In 2005 Mitsubishi introduced a concept version of the next Evolution at the Tokyo Motor Show, the Concept-X, and in 2007 the Prototype-X at the North American International Auto Show. The Lancer Evolution X has a new 4B11T 1,998 cc turbocharged all aluminum alloy GEMA four cylinder engine, with at least 280 PS, a full time four wheel drive system called S-AWC with torque vectoring, and a six speed dual clutch SST. It went on sale on 1 October 2007. Its model years run from 2007 to 2016.
