The Lancer Evolution IX Wagon also competed in a racing series for several races during the 2006 season and a full season in 2007. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution won Consumer Search's best aggressive sports sedan in June 2006. The internal components of the American versions were largely stripped down versions of the Japanese specification. All generations use two liter intercooled turbo inline four cylinder engines and all wheel drive systems.
