The Evolution V of 1998 changed many aspects of the car, with Recaro seats in the GSR, flared arches front and rear and a new aluminum rear spoiler with adjustable angle of attack. The track was widened by 10 millimeters and the wheel diameter rose from 16 to 17 inches to fit Brembo brakes. The Evolution V was now no longer considered compact under Japanese regulations. The Lancer Evolution was a sports sedan and rally car based on the Lancer, made by Mitsubishi Motors from 1992 until 2016, with ten official versions.
