The Toyota Verso is a compact MPV that the Japanese carmaker Toyota produced between 2009 and 2018 as the direct successor to the Corolla Verso. It was available in five- or seven-seat configurations and was positioned above the Verso-S, also called the Space Verso, in the Toyota European catalogue. The name Verso is taken from the English word versatility. In South Africa the only diesel engine available for the Verso range was the 2.0 litre D-4D, and Euro NCAP test results for 2010 concluded that the Verso was the safest MPV. A version produced and marketed by GAC Toyota entered production in 2011 and was discontinued in 2017.
