The Toyota Isis is a seven-seat large MPV made by Kanto Auto Works under contract for Toyota and sold in Japan from its launch in September 2004. It has sliding doors and comes with front- or four-wheel drive and straight-four 1.8 and 2.0 litre gasoline engines. It competed in Japan with the Honda Stream and the Nissan Lafesta. The Isis used an unusual approach to its sliding doors: the front passenger door and the rear passenger sliding door interlock when closed, instead of both attaching to a doorjamb. It succeeded the Gaia in the Toyota line-up.
