Toyota Corolla Spacio

The Toyota Corolla Spacio is a compact MPV that Toyota sold under the Corolla nameplate. The Spacio name was used only in Japan, where the car was exclusive to Toyota Corolla Store dealerships, and it comes from the Italian word spazio, meaning space. The first generation, introduced in January 1997, was a two-box minivan technically similar to the Avensis. The second generation went on sale in Japan in May 2001 and in Europe from late 2001 as the Corolla Verso, a five-seater offered with a five-speed manual and a diesel engine. A White Pearl Limited edition was released in May 2000. Squeezed by the cheaper Sienta and the larger Wish, the Spacio was discontinued in Japan in June 2007.
