The Daihatsu Xenia is the Daihatsu-badged twin of the Toyota Avanza, an entry-level three-row multi-purpose vehicle that Daihatsu developed and that Toyota and Daihatsu market side by side, mainly for Indonesia and other emerging markets. It is built mainly in Indonesia by Astra Daihatsu Motor and was positioned as the more affordable alternative to the Avanza, with less standard safety equipment but more dealer-installed accessory options such as bumper guards, a rear spoiler and body mouldings. The second generation arrived on 9 November 2011 for sale in Indonesia only, with a 989 cc three-cylinder or a 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine, and the 1.0-litre version was dropped in August 2016 in favour of the smaller Sigra. A third generation with its own front fascia was launched at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show on 11 November 2021, and the first generation was also sold in China as the FAW Senya M80.
