Mercury Sable (third generation)

Automobiles

The third generation Sable was introduced for the 1996 model year with a controversial oval design shared with the Taurus. For 1997 it underwent cost cutting revisions, with features of the LS becoming available on the GS, and a mid cycle revision for 1998 brought new headlights and a centered Mercury emblem in the grille. The Vulcan V6 became standard on all Sables, with the Duratec optional on the LS for 1999. Its model years run from 1996 to 1999.
