For 1966 the Monterey underwent some minor styling revisions: the taillights were redesigned, removing the lower lenses from the bumper and adding chrome trim bands, and two door hardtops received a new roofline with thinner C pillars. The 390 was increased to 265 horsepower, the Super and Interceptor versions were dropped in favor of a 330 horsepower 410 exclusive to Mercury, and a 345 horsepower 428 became the most powerful option.
