Mercury Monterey (1961 to 1964)

Automobiles

For 1961 Mercury underwent a major transformation of its model line, again sharing a bodyshell with a divisional counterpart, now shifting from Edsel to Ford, with the Monterey the equivalent of the Ford Galaxie. The Montclair and Park Lane were discontinued, which made the Monterey the flagship, slotted above the new Meteor. By adopting a common chassis and body with Ford it lost six inches of wheelbase. Its model years run from 1961 to 1964.
