The 2007 Montego was the last year of the third generation, a full size sedan and the Mercury counterpart of the Ford Five Hundred, marketed between the Milan and the Grand Marquis. For the 2008 model year the Montego adopted the nameplate of the car it had replaced, becoming the final generation of the Mercury Sable, in the same way as the Five Hundred became the Taurus. It was marketed between the Milan and the Grand Marquis.
