Mercury Monarch (single generation)

Automobiles

The Monarch had a single generation, developed as an extensively updated Comet for 1975 but renamed because it was more upscale. It was designed as the original successor for the Comet and marketed as a luxury compact vehicle, slotted between the Comet and the Montego and based heavily on the first generation Falcon of 1960. It was facelifted in 1978. For 1981 the Monarch was discontinued after a single generation. Its model years run from 1975 to 1980.
