For 1963, alongside minor trim revisions, the Meteor received the addition of a four door station wagon and a two door hardtop coupe. The station wagon was offered in both trims, and Meteor Custom wagons were branded as the Mercury Country Cruiser with simulated woodgrain exterior trim. Sales of the mid sized Meteor were less than expected and the model was discontinued at the end of the 1963 model year.
