For 1976 the Marquis saw few visible changes, though a Landau vinyl roof option was introduced for Brougham and Grand Marquis two doors, and all versions of the Marquis were marketed as Ride Engineered, promoting its ride comparisons against more expensive European sedans of the time. In Canada the Meteor brand closed after 1976, and Ford Canada continued using the Meteor name within Mercury. Station wagons were part of the Marquis range, with the Colony Park as the woodgrained wagon.
