Mercury Eight (second generation)

Automobiles

The second generation Mercury Eight, from 1941, had all new styling and some engineering improvements. A station wagon was added and the four door convertible of 1940 was gone. Production stopped in February 1942 as American auto plants converted to war material, with only 1,902 built in the short 1942 model year. Postwar the cars carried a new grille from 1946, and the 1947 and 1948 Mercury Eights were practically identical. Its model years run from 1941 to 1948.
