The 1968 models dropped Comet from their name, as the Cyclone became a distinct nameplate while the Montego was phased in to replace the Comet. The Cyclones had a mid tire level body tape stripe, and the Cyclone GT had an upper level body stripe, buckets, wide whitewall tires, special wheel covers, an all vinyl interior and the special handling package. For 1969 a Spoiler and Cobra Jet were added. Its model years run from 1968 to 1969.
