The Commuter was temporarily absent in 1963, in concession to the new, smaller intermediate Meteor station wagons, but the full size platform was reinstated for 1964, when the Meteor was discontinued. The 1964 Commuter was a full size four door Mercury wagon, set apart from the Colony Park by its lack of woodgrain trim, and was part of the Country Cruiser grouping. Its trim lacked the woodgrain panels of the Colony Park. The Commuter was a full size Mercury station wagon.
