1991 was the final shortened model year for the Colony Park, with production ending in December 1990. For the 1992 model year the Mercury Grand Marquis underwent an extensive redesign that dropped the station wagon body from its lineup, and Mercury did not again market a full size station wagon during the two decades until its closure. It ended a line begun in 1957. Eight passenger seating was standard equipment. The Colony Park was a Panther platform wagon and the flagship station wagon series of Ford Motor Company.
