For 1982 the fuel injected 5.0 V8 became the sole engine offering in all Mercury full size cars, including the Colony Park. The wagon was part of the Grand Marquis line with eight passenger seating and simulated woodgrain trim, and it saw few substantial changes during its thirteen year lifespan. Its engine was paired with the AOD overdrive transmission. Eight passenger seating was standard equipment. The Colony Park was a Panther platform wagon and the flagship station wagon series of Ford Motor Company.
