What Car? magazine named the Mazda6 its Family Car of the Year for 2010, a prize the magazine gave to the second generation car. The 2009 and 2010 model year cars sold in the United States were later recalled because yellow sac spiders were found nesting in the fuel line vent. At the Geneva Motor Show in 2010 Mazda announced the refreshed 2011 Mazda6, which was still built in Michigan for North America.
