The Scrum of 2009 was in its fifth year as the fourth generation van and wagon of Mazda, a kei vehicle with an all aluminium three cylinder 660 cc DOHC engine of 49 PS and a 64 PS turbo, and with the column shift that made a walk through possible in the wagon. The van came in four grades, PA, PU, PC and Buster, and the wagon in PX, PX Turbo, PZ Turbo and PZ Turbo Special Package. The front grille and bumpers of the Scrum van and wagon were the same as those of the Every, and the truck the same as the Carry.
