1994 Mazda RX-7

Automobiles

For the 1994 model year the FD interior received a small update with a passenger side air bag, and a popular equipment group package was offered. The R1 trim became the R2 in 1994 and 1995, with upgraded springs, Bilstein shocks and an extra oil cooler. A European facelift carried the same interior change, and the RX-7 won the IMSA Supercar race at Sebring in 1994. Mazda organised an internal design competition between its four design studios for the shape of the car.
