The MX-6 in 1990 was in the fourth year of the first generation, available in the United States as the DX, LX, LE and GT, with the F2 2.2 liter engine making 110 horsepower in the base model, or 145 with the turbocharger. The DX was the bare bones model, the LX added power windows, locks and mirrors, and the car was still mechanically identical to the Ford Probe and the 626. European and Japanese versions used the 1.8 liter F8 or 2.0 liter FE engines.
