The CX-80 was officially revealed on 18 April 2024, with pre-sales in May and deliveries in the second half of the year. It is based on the shorter, five seat CX-60 and uses the same powertrains, including a plug-in hybrid, on the rear and all wheel drive Large Product Group platform. It is the flagship in Europe and Japan, a smaller alternative to the CX-90 in Australia and some Asian countries, and replaced the CX-8. Its model years run from 2024 to 2026.
