The Carol of 2003 was in its fifth year as the fourth generation, a Mazda branded kei car that Suzuki built on the Alto platform, closely related to the AZ Wagon and AZ Offroad of Mazda. It had been updated with the five point grille in 2000, and a replacement for the Suzuki Alto was due, which would bring a new Carol. The Carol was available with either front or all-wheel drive. The fourth generation Carol was closely related to the AZ-Offroad and AZ-Wagon.
