The Carol of 2007 was in its fourth year as the fifth generation, a kei car marketed by Mazda and manufactured by Suzuki, based on the Japanese Suzuki Alto. It was a rebadged model with no unique bodywork, as had been true of the Carol since late 1998, and its name had been revived in 1989 for Mazda's re-entry into the kei car class. The Carol is a rebadged model manufactured by Suzuki for Mazda. The Carol was replaced as Suzuki released a replacement for the Alto.
