1991 Mazda 323

Automobiles

In 1991 the base model name was changed to DX in North America, and the Infini was upgraded with a viscous limited slip differential, stiffer suspension and the bonnet and headlights of the 323 hatchbacks, which were adopted on all Familia saloons. The GT saloon swapped its 1.6 liter DOHC B6-ZE for the larger 1.8 liter BP-ZE. The Ford Escort and Mercury Tracer in North America were based on the Familia from 1991. The Familia was also sold as the Ford Laser, Ford Meteor, and from 1991 as the Ford Escort and Mercury Tracer in North America.
