The Porsche Panamera is a mid- to full-sized luxury car, in the E-segment or the F-segment for long-wheelbase versions in Europe, that Porsche manufactures and markets with a front engine and rear- or all-wheel drive. It debuted at the Auto Shanghai show in April 2009, with hybrid and diesel versions following in 2011. A facelift came in April 2013, and the US plug-in hybrid Panamera S E-Hybrid in November 2013. The second generation arrived in 2016 and the third was introduced in November 2023, so the car now spans three generations. Its name, like the Carrera name, comes from the Carrera Panamericana race. The first versions, the V8-powered S, 4S and Turbo, debuted in 2009.
