The 1958 Lincoln Capri was one of the largest cars ever made, larger than contemporary Cadillacs and Imperials, and with canted headlights and scalloped fenders had styling considered by many to be excessive. The 1958 full size Lincoln sold poorly in all models because of the economic recession in the United States, and Lincoln lost over 60 million dollars during 1958 to 1960 developing perhaps the largest unibody car ever made.
