In 1967 Rover became part of Leyland Motors, later British Leyland, and Land Rover went with it. At the same time the Series IIA range gained a 2.6-litre six-cylinder petrol unit for its long-wheelbase models, which also received servo-assisted brakes; 811 of the long-wheelbase trucks were NADA models, the only long-wheelbase Land Rovers made for the American and Canadian markets. Series IIB Forward Control production was now in its second year.
