1997 Land Rover Freelander

Automobiles

The Freelander was introduced in 1997 as Land Rover's third product line after the Range Rover and Discovery, a small four-wheel drive aimed at a buyer who wanted the brand's capability in a more compact package. It was the first Land Rover with a monocoque body, with 3-door and 5-door versions, engines from Rover's K-series petrol and L-series diesel families, and it ended up as Europe's best-selling four-wheel drive for five years running.
