The 2022 Discovery Sport was the compact Discovery, a transverse-engined crossover with a steel monocoque and aluminium bonnet, wings, roof and tailgate, and an available panoramic glass sunroof. In certain markets the bonnet carried an airbag to help protect pedestrians. The standard all-wheel-drive system was from Haldex, with Land Rover's Active Driveline from GKN optional, and neither had a low-range gearbox.
