In June 2016 Jaguar Land Rover opened a plant at Itatiaia in Brazil, which builds both the Discovery Sport and the Range Rover Evoque for the local market. The car in this year was also built at the Halewood plant near Liverpool beside the Evoque, with transversely mounted four-cylinder Ingenium engines, a Haldex or an optional GKN-made Active Driveline all-wheel-drive system, and no low-range gearbox.
