1998 Land Rover Discovery

Automobiles

The second-generation Discovery arrived in the autumn of 1998, four years after BMW had bought Rover Group, with 720 changes from the Series I: every body panel was altered apart from the outer skin of the rear doors, and the rear was extended to give adults room on all seven seats. The Td5 five-cylinder diesel arrived, and the original Discovery went out of production in 1998. Special editions included the Anniversary 50 for Land Rover's fiftieth year and the 1,100-unit Safari.
