The Discovery 4 reached the end of its production in 2016. The next generation was unveiled on 28 September 2016, on the eve of the Paris Motor Show, at Packington Hall near Meriden, and went on sale in February 2017. Aluminium replaced steel in the new architecture, saving up to 480 kilograms. The Discovery 4 had sold from 2009 as the LR4 and Discovery 4 and was available as an armoured Sentinel with B6 protection, used to carry British ministers.
