For the 2011 model year the Discovery 4 lost its 2.7-litre diesel and offered two versions of the 3.0-litre unit, the TDV6 and the SDV6, the latter giving 245 horsepower. In January 2011 Car and Driver placed the LR4 fourth of five in a comparison, trailing the Audi Q7, the BMW X5 and the Acura MDX, though in Britain the Discovery has won Auto Express awards for best large SUV and best towcar since its 2009 launch.
