On 8 May 2007 the four millionth Land Rover left the production line, a Discovery 3 that was donated to the Born Free Foundation. Plans to assemble the Discovery 3 from kits in Russia, at Ford's Vsevolozhsk factory, were dropped in 2007. Ford announced in June that it planned to sell Land Rover together with Jaguar Cars. The Discovery 3 still came with the 2.7-litre TdV6 diesel and the 4.4-litre V8.
