Land Rover announced in August 2011 that the Defender would be revised for the 2012 model year, and acknowledged publicly for the first time that it was working on an all-new replacement. The DC100 concept and its topless DC100 Sport were unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, a three-door off-roader with a 2.0-litre turbodiesel and a two-seat pick-up with a 2.0-litre petrol engine, both on a 100-inch wheelbase. The Iveco Massif, a Spanish-built derivative of the Santana PS10, went on until 2011.
