In 1995 the performance of the V8 engine was upgraded to 300 pound feet of torque from 285. The five speed Aisin AX15 manual transmission was also no longer available for 1995, and an optional rear lift glass was first introduced with the 1995 Orvis edition. The 1995 vans' larger Grand Cherokee badge was used first with the Orvis package, in a font style similar to other Chrysler products, replacing the 1974 era American Motors font.
