The second generation Compass debuted in September 2016 in Brazil and at the Los Angeles International Auto Show in November 2016, sharing a modified platform with the Renegade, and is positioned between the smaller Renegade and the larger Cherokee. Production for North American market Compass models was moved to Toluca, Mexico. The Compass was unveiled in India on April 12, 2017, and has been assembled in the Fiat India Automobiles plant in Ranjangaon since June 1, 2017.
