In 2007 an H3X edition was added to the H3 lineup. In 2007 GM South Africa launched Hummer production in Port Elizabeth, so the H3 was built there as well as at Shreveport Operations in Louisiana. The H3 was the smallest Hummer, offered as a five door SUV, and unlike the larger H1 and H2 models the H3 was not developed by AM General. The 2007 H3 was built in the United States and in South Africa, and sold with the H3X trim.
