In 1991 the SR ALB and SE models were introduced for the Canadian Honda Prelude market. The SE came closer to the Japanese and European models, fully equipped with a leather interior as well as 4WS and ALB. Japan introduced the fourth generation on 19 September 1991, ending a third generation whose signature feature was the first mechanical four wheel steering system in a mass production passenger car.
