The 1983 Honda Prelude was the first model year of the second generation, released worldwide in the spring of 1983 on an all new platform and initially available with a 1.8 liter 12 valve twin carburetor engine making 105 PS DIN. It was the first Prelude with pop up headlights, which allowed a more aerodynamic front clip, and it offered Honda's A.L.B. anti lock brakes as an option. You can recognize the North American 1983 model by the painted steel wheels that came standard with bright trim rings, and alloy rims were an option.
