1978 Honda Prelude

Automobiles

The 1978 Honda Prelude was launched to the Japanese market on 24 November 1978, in Japan only available at the newly established Honda Verno dealership channel, which also introduced the Honda Quint, the Honda Ballade and the Accord based Honda Vigor. At launch the standard engine was an EL, an eight valve SOHC 1,602 cc inline four without CVCC making 80 PS, and in September 1978 Japan gained the bigger EK, a 12 valve SOHC 1,751 cc CVCC inline four rated at 90 PS. Along with the Accord of the time, the Prelude was the first car below two liters to come with standard power steering.
