The Pilot was revised in October 2005 for 2006, with a new fascia, halogen projector headlights, clear lens tail lights, redesigned EX wheels, door handles in the body color on the EX, a powered moonroof on the EX-L and side airbags in the C pillar. A J35Z1 engine served the front wheel drive cars and a J35A9 the 4WD, both rated at 244 hp by the updated SAE net power standard, and two wheel drive models gained Variable Cylinder Management for 2006. It was the first time that 4WD was left off the standard equipment of the Pilot.
