Honda manufactured the first-generation NSX in Japan between 1990 and 2005 as a two seater, mid engine sports car, sold as the Acura NSX in North America and Hong Kong. It was designed by a team led by Chief Designer Masahito Nakano and Executive Chief Engineer Shigeru Uehara, and was the first production car with an all aluminium semi monocoque and the first car with titanium connecting rods. It went on sale in Japan in 1990 and under the Acura brand from November 1990 in North America, gained a targa top in 1995 and a 3.2 liter engine in 1997, and was facelifted in 2002. Each model year of this generation has its own page.
