The Honda N360 was a clean sheet design with a chassis of its own, shared neither with the Honda Sports roadster nor with the L700 commercial platform of Honda. The N360 opened a new market segment for Honda, with a vehicle that was affordable, reliable and easy to maintain, and the spacious and relatively powerful car was an instant hit in Japan, overtaking the long reigning Subaru 360 as the top selling passenger car. It featured front wheel drive and an air cooled, four stroke, 354 cc, 31 PS two cylinder engine derived from Honda's motorcycle engines. The larger N600 was developed alongside it to target export markets. Each model year has its own page.
