Honda gave the Legend a small styling change on September 21, 1998: the front grille now cut into the front bumper and was more prominent, and the emphasis fell on a luxurious feel in style, both inside and out. Standard equipment now included side impact airbags to complement the dual front airbags, and the steering wheel could adjust itself automatically to the position of the driver's seat.
