Honda Japan announced in June 2012 that the Sayama plant in Saitama, Japan would cease producing the Legend and the Inspire. This was the last model year of the fourth generation Honda Legend, which had been launched on October 7, 2004 and shared large sedan duties with the Honda Inspire. The fifth generation did not arrive until it was unveiled on November 10, 2014.
