The Honda Legend had a mid model change for the 2009 model year, which added optional safety features, among them a Lane Keeping Assistance System able to make small steering corrections to hold a car in its lane, and Intelligent Night Vision, the first system anywhere to detect pedestrians. The pop up hood uses sensors that can detect a pedestrian like object being thrown onto the hood and pops the hood up at the rear by 10 cm to help minimize pedestrian injuries.
